A friend told me to eat heavy breakfast because I need the fuel to help me get through the day, especially that I do my exercises in the morning, too. Dati kasi I do oatmeal for breakfast and dinner and full meal for lunch, but I got sick (maybe because I wasn't getting enough nutrients). So, changing my diet again, I am now eating full breakfast and half lang for lunch, then for dinner, oatmeal pa rin, kasi matutulog na rin in a few hours.

I am still new to the fitness program, so I still go for 1 cup of rice... siguro the second month, I can start cutting down the rice intake. Rice lover kasi ako, kaya ayoko namang i-cut drastically ang rice intake, baka magrebelde ang katawan ko, and I might eat more. So, itty bitty steps for me.

That's absolutely the correct attitude when it comes to adjusting your rice intake....  A gradual and healthy decrease will be best for your adjustment, both mentally and physiologically.

BUT as for the oatmeal dinners...there's nothing wrong per se about eating oatmeal for dinner if you really like it...but it's not the magic bullet for weight loss that's it's perceived to be. You can also vary your dinner choices by eating steamed/stir-fried vegetables, a healthy salad or sandwich, if you want to keep it light.

I replace rice w/ skyflakes biscuit.

i heard that skyflakes, like any other cracker, is very fattening because it is fried, not baked... i love skyflakes, too, even if i know it's high caloric... :-(

hi, in my opinion dear, for somebody like you whose still studying, breakfast is the most important meal of the day..you cant concentrate well in class without the energy giving food group which is the carbohydrates- RICE..a cup in the morning wont hurt your diet regimen..and do not skip meal, professionals advice to eat 6 small meals a day or its every 4 hours for the metabolism of the body..skipping meals just add to the burden of our metabolism bec they will adjust for us, means, if we dont eat on time, they will slow down their work thus creating an unharmonious event of our body..

wow, i don`t know that....thanks for the help, but what do you mean by "eat 6 small meals a day"? I don`t know what to eat for those...

hi kathryn! i've done that in hyskul, the only difference was i always eat heavy breakfast. since you're still in highschool, you're still considered as a growing child who needs nutrition. you need to eat a balanced diet to be healthy. Eat rice if you like, kahit half rice lang, then vegetables as ur viand and a "matchbox" sized meat. then engage yourself to sports at school like volleyball, basketball, swimming, or running. join funruns! and if you could dance, join a dance group or ur school's pepsquad. why dont you try to prepare breakfast at night before going to bed, then just reheat it in the microwave when you get up. wake up at least 1-2hours before going to school so that you have time to stretch, eat and prepare. or eat cereals instead then bring the apple with you as a snack. drink skim milk instead of coffee. no alcohol intake and no smoking... hehehe.

Thank you sooo much for the advice, and hopefully I can do it all right..:), because I`ve been searching the internet for some effective ways...:D

hi! i`m also a newbie here, i`m still a student, and i`ve been eating only apple in breakfast, because when i wake up in the morning, i stretch for 5 minutes, then got shower, then take an apple, and and go to school..then when i`m in school, i don`t eat rice sometimes, but I eat skyflakes, then, I eat few biscuits when I got home, sometimes, I eat egg sandwich, at dinner, i don`t eat rice nor viand..just egg or sandwich

WAS IT GOOD OR BAD? I did this for 2 days, then, when it`s one day holiday or weekends, i eat rice, when school time again, back to above mentioned eating.

As a student, help me to do this the right thing....i`m not eating rice in dinner for about 2 years now...

hirap ng walang rice! hehehe...lalu na masarap ang ulam. but what i do it limit my rice to 4-5 spoonfuls or talagang half cup rice a meal or 1cup rice for the whole day na ako..

what you can substitute with rice is kamote, or wheat bread a slice or two, sa diet kasi you still need to have carbo intake para it can fuel you up. energy wise.

i should practice "no rice" in the evening.. huhuhu kaso i loved dining with my family.. nakakalimutan ko minsan napaparami lalo na pag nagkakasayahan na sa kwetuhan. that's the time lang kasi in a day na magkakasama kami, bonding moment namin.

buti na lng when i started joining this community supportive si mother, pini-prapare niya yong dinner before 6 o'clock, 'yon nga lng masaya yong dinner. hehehe

when i was still single, i usually eat a cup of rice for breakfast, half for lunch, and as much as i could, skip dinner or just oatmeal. but when i got married, most of the time i break this routine because my husband wants rice for dinner, and that's the only meal we eat together so i can't help but eating the same food he wants.
